Today was much more exciting than any other day so far! This morning I was asked to go to the Ways and Means Committee hearing with Treasury of State Timothy Geithner. I sat in the back and watched as committee members asked him questions about the 2011 budget. This is an article about the hearing - I heard these quotes as they happened !!
I was then led to the house floor. Yeah THE HOUSE FLOOR! When we got to the door Congressman Johnson wanted me to go in with him to listen but we were told interns were not allowed on the floor so I was instead led back to the Cloak Room! =] There was little telephone booths, hotdogs, a snack bar, chairs, tons of tvs, and desks with computers. It was very cool.
I am so glad today was interesting- this is why I came here in the first place. If only everyday could be so fun.
