In New York

Busy day! We had our itinerary filled. The day started at an EARLY 4:30 AM and just kept going from there. Our bus ride was great- it took 4 hours and I got to sleep most of the way. We got into New York, dropped off our luggage at the hotel and hit the city.

Times Square

It was so cold though! February in NYC is torture. Walking around was difficult but I tried to keep my face out of the wind as much as possible. Our first stop was Broadway, where we got tickets to see Mama Mia ( cant wait ). After the tickets, we moved on to the Park Plaza. Ahh gorgeous! What a beautiful place, there were chandeliers everywhere and fresh flowers on every table. ( I couldn't help but think of my Mimi and her beautiful chandelier too =] ) I loved walking around the lobby and the shopping downstairs.

The Plaza Foyer

Across the street we ran into FAO Shwartz. FUN! I became a kid all over again. The human sized kaleidoscope was probably my favorite part but there were so many things to look at. Giant stuffed animals, intricate doll houses, Harry Potter gear, the Big piano, and barbies. Our next kiddy stop was at the Hershys store and M&M world- we just couldn't resist so much candy!

So many M&Ms!

From there the group headed to the Metropolitan Museum. There was so much to look at, there is no way I could have seen everything in one day. There were ancient artifacts, classic and famous paintings, even full rooms from paris hotels. After a couple of hours, I started to feel a little overwhelmed. It was definitely time for dinner so we walked down the street until we found a somewhat inexpensive place. ( inexpensive for New York... not cheap though ) It was a very pretty place called Serafina, but it was mostly just about ambiance and not about food. I miss good, cheap Texas food.

Tomorrow will be another crazy day starting at the Statue of Liberty. I'll be sure to share all the details and pictures. Goodnight!
